A blog has many aspects that defines it self in being a blog, however, I believe most people are forgetting the true meaning of having a blog. Magazines uses many marketing strategies in their pages’ interfaces such as pictures, graphical images, persuasive language, incentives like freebies, certificates and much more to attract readers attention, but what has happened to blogs? Blogs are becoming less of a personality website rather than just becoming a plain black and white, bland fact sheet.
Importing Key Points – Give clear key points on what you are trying to convenience your audience with like how you want them to feel at the end of reading your article and why this is bad or why this is good, etc.- Emotional Feel – A strategy used in everyday magazines is playing with the audience’s emotional feel with wording that talks about the possibly things that can go wrong and what can possibly affect them to make the audience cling onto the topic even more. This is like a scare tactic to make audience act a certain way.
- Using Statistics - People are more likely to be convinced with statistics rather than information that came out of the blue without any resource to back it up, and gives readers the feel of what is being affected and what is not.
- Relative Topics – Introducing new topics on the topic and use supportive evidences to back up the theory.
- Weird Word Fonts – Using unusually large fonts or unusually small fonts are techniques large magazine
- Unusual Literature – Using words to make the topic seem more interesting and unusual to spark readers’ attention like on the magazine portion of an article called, “Make: Technology on Your Time,” They use shocking words to spark readers’ attention. - Colors – Color is a great technique to create awareness for your readers and to make your reader’s time a lot of easier and your content more accessible as well. Have you ever seen a modern day magazine have ONLY plain black and what? Answer for your self.
- Testimonies – Using names that is common known. Big names like CNN, and New York Times to interest more readers.
