The question is why do we use channels in Google Adsense and what is the purpose of having them. We have all probably heard of the so called Google Adsense for being the world’s largest, most profitable PPC (Pay per click) program for the most bang for your clicks, however, what are these so called Channels that Adsense has implemented and what does it have to do with funnels like on the picture on the left?
The Purpose of Having Channels
Channels aren’t tags to have certain ads that you want nor are they to block certain ads that you don’t like. They are organizers just like you would have to separate folders for a business. Think of channels like a funnel. Each with it’s own unique tracker ideally for each ad box you make, for organizing which ad is which. Here is where the funnel comes along. Each individual channel has a tracker and funnels which is having the most impression and which is receiving the most clicks. This is a prominent tool to discovering which is the best position for your ads and what works for your sites’ ads and what doesn’t. It is sort of like an individual web analytic except it’s analysis for your Google ads. This feature lies a lot out in the table because then you can experiment and find what’s the best position for your ads as well as increase your monetizing efforts.
How to Make Channels
Making channels is simple as 1,2,3. Follow these tips then your sure to be on the road to analysis on discovering where clicks are mainly coming from and which ads is the most prominent.
- You can either add a channel under the channel section while you are in the create an new ad section from the ‘Get Ads’ section or if you already have an ad and want to add a channel to the ad…
- Click on ‘Manage Ads’ under the Adsense Setup tab and click on ‘Edit Ad Settings’ on which ever ad you want to add the channel to.
- Then, simply scroll down to the Channel section and press on ‘Add new channel.’
- Type what ever you want to call your channels. Ideally names that you can easily identify which ad is which so you can tell apart which ad is getting the most clicks and impressions.
Like any serious webmaster, having channels to analyzing which ad is working the most prominent is as an important role in monetizing as it to analyzing web traffic. The main reason as to why having channels is to discover and experiment with ads to finding the most prominent spots with the most attention. Knowing the stats for individual ads will not only improve your Blog’s conversions per impression, but as well as give you a bigger up sight on what people are looking at your site as well.
