All five hosts are huge, why should someone not start with a small hosting company with personal support?

  • http://www.mooladays.com Albert

Ideally small hosting companies in some cases can run into some trial and error, so I believe big reputable hosting companies who has been on the line for a while, is better for a more sustainable start. I have heard some really good things about some small hosting companies too as well as providing extraordinary personal support, but there are other stories as well. It really varies, but I liked how you brought that up Ned.

@Ned Carey: Don’t even make the mistake of going near small hosting companies/resellers. Customer service generally sucks as they lack manpower. I’m grieving right now over web space I bought from a reseller and wordpress can’t be installed with giving errors. It’s been a week and some days and still no response from there. I was even somewhat of insulted somewhere along the line.
Stick with the big hosts. It’s been 7 months with Hostgator and I’ve got ABSOLUTELY no complains about them. They’re the best.
