The prospect of Internet Marketing is to make a profit am I wrong? However, there are certain mistakes that most new marketers make or are slowly progressing to make. Don’t let these mistakes happen to you. There are so many things that can be misleading and understanding the concept as to why you should avoid them is step one. Making a profit is step two.

Poor Writing

Poor writing is one of the most common mistakes that most new businesses make because they don’t want to spend on hiring a good sales page writer. Content is what conveniences your customers and if you can’t write an establishing good looking 500-1000 word article that conveniences your readers, then you won’t make a dime at all. If you fall into this category, I strongly recommend hiring a reputable freelancer. They will do the job within minutes.

Writing Too Much

Sometimes it is good to have a little presumptuous mystery that makes customers want to read more. Writing too much on one page or writing too much in depth as to what you are trying to sell can be bad. Nowadays it is stated and proven that people are lazy and mostly skim through articles. If there are articles down to where the scroll bar is only a little block, you’ve got a problem. Make use of those page frames to get rid of long pages.

Pricing It Too Cheap

We are now in the modern world where people want quality and fast too. Having low price margins, although it is tempting to your customers, can be a bad marketing strategy for your business because people may think there must be a catch or some sort. Having just a right price and not overly making it cheaper, can boost your sales because overly cheap services can cause some misleading thoughts to think other wise.

Going Over Board With Testimonials

Testimonials are good, but after a couple, they really get well, old to a point where people begin to question whether or not it is an actual testament. Having the right enough of testimonials here and there are good to have, but don’t go over board with them or customers will become more and more suspicious, which you don’t want.

Trying to Please Everyone

There is a certain point where you know you have crossed the line. You can’t please everyone, or it will be unfair to all the other buyers. Don’t always play the nice man, there are certain things you should just said no to.

People Forget

Attracting customers and keeping them up to date is what makes up your sales. People forget, it is as simple as that, so you need a way to keep loyal customers up to date with real time up to date notifications. That is where email marketing, RSS syndication, and having a contact page comes into play. If your marketing plans are easy on the customers, they are most likely to become a returning customer who will recommend your business to friends. Having RSS syndication, email campaigns, and having a personal contact where they can contact you will aid your business even more and is good to have.

Fail to be Noticeable

Many marketers fail to be unique in some way, whether it be the style, the product, the idea, there must be a way for a customer to differentiate you from the rest because there are thousands of other businesses as well. Once you have this into play, you have a better fighting chance of your business being more memorable. That is where branding effectively comes into play.

Spending on Advertising on the Wrong Page

One of the most common mistakes that new marketers make is that they are promoting the wrong page. Simply having a landing page to your home page may not be enough to convenience your new found customers. You should use advertising money, whether it be from Adwords or any other advertising network, on a landing page that will convert and is focused only in one product. Simply because your home page may be too broad for customers to figure out what you are actually trying to sell and we all know people have waiting spans on the Internet. Having a straight forward landing page for each advertising campaign will successfully increase your conversions as well. If you have two separate products you want to promote, make two separate campaigns. Go for the long tailed keywords, it funnels out unnecessary views, and is more affordable.
