What Makes a Site an “Authority Site”
Many webmasters know it is no easy game to become an authority site. It takes lots of commitment, hard work, and almost impossible for lone webmasters who have a low budget. An authority site in Google’s eyes is a site with a lot of indexed pages. When I say a lot, I mean a lot and has a high page rankings. Ideally most authority sites have page rankings over 6 and already have additional sitemaps on their Google listings. Most authority sites tend to be over a couple of years of age before they became known as authority site. One more important attribute that makes up an authority site is also ranking well on abundance of high competitive keywords. You can tell right away that this is no easy accomplishment already.
Some examples of the most commonly known authority sites are CNN and New York Times.
As you may know, this is no easy task. No SEO company can offer such a powerful feature that Google has to offer. Authority sites are only given the name authority through proper managing and commitment. It is only given through link building done right through buzz and not through self promotion. This is one title one can never easily achieve through self promoting.
