Get Backlinks From Podcast Directories With Odiogo
Odiogo shares a really cool concept that not many services like Feedburner offer. They have a simple motto, “Convert your blog into a podcast,” and it does just that. Well, you may assume that the audio that they present will be “pitchy” and robotic like, it really isn’t. The voice of the podcast sounds really human like for once.
Click on “Listen to Odiogo” in the picture above and listen for your self.
So What Does This Mean?
This means that we can cast our blog posts as podcasts of course, but this ultimately means, we got another fresh source to get backlinks from podcast directories. Even if you don’t have a single podcast presented on your blog, Odiogo simply converts your blog posts into podcasts themselves with a hit of a button.
Although Odiogo only converts the very first sentences in the 10 most recent posts, it is enough of an audio to be able to submit the podcast feed to directories and get a free backlink to your site.
How to Submit to a Podcast Directory With Odiogo
- Setup an account and let Odiogo do the converting
- Then simply find a Podcast directory and sign up.
- Now, go to your Odiogo URL, and in the center you should see an URL that ends with .xml.php. This is your Podcast feed that you want to put in boxes that ask for your Podcast feed. Mine for example is http://podcasts.odiogo.com/moola-days/podcasts-xml.php
- Now hit submit and move on to the next directory. You should see that there will be URLs posting to your homepage as well as your 10 most recent posts. In some rare cases there will only be a link to your homepage and your odiogo feed.
Although I have not yet supplied my own list of podcast directories yet, here is a good resource for a list of podcast directories that you can submit to.
- Some are dead, however, just move on if you bump into a dead podcast directory.
If you already have audio presentations or video presentations, then you don’t have to go through this “Odiogo thing,” just submit the audio/video presentations that you already made. The purpose of getting a podcast off Odiogo is simply for web owners who don’t have either and would like a backlink. I can’t say it is an effective method compared to genuine shared audio/video presentations in terms of getting traffic, but it is worth a try.
