How to Dominate Google Images

How to Dominate Google Images
One of the things that all webmasters should know about Google already, is that what ever page, site, listing, whatever that has to do with Google’s organic search engine algorithm, it takes multiple editorial votes, or backlinks, to make a page whether it be a picture or a video, rank high in their search engines. The techniques that applies to text search today in Google, still applies to how Google ranks pictures as well in their image search engine. And I got a video presentation to prove it from Peter Linsley who is part of the Google image search team. You can find more great videos from the Google Search team at the YouTube channel, GoogleWebmasterHelp.
This special video from the Google’s image search ranking team, demonstrates that to rank well in image search, you must apply about the same techniques that you put into ranking well in text rankings as well. If you compare this video from their past videos on how to rank well for their text search engine, you may notice that the process is about the same. In other words, there is no secret to dominating Google images; rather, you must put the effort into optimizing your images and to build links to them to make them rank higher for key search terms like you did with text rankings. Like in text rankings, what I recommend doing, is trying to rank for a long tailed keywords first and then build up to more competitive image search key terms. This process has always worked out for most webmasters and I’d bet it would work for you too if you put the effort into it.

Thank you for the infomation. I will look at the google channel!
All the best,
Stu.
Thanks for the tips. Google images is pretty easy to dominate. It’s a whole lot easier than the main search that’s for sure.
But the traffic from google images may not be that much productive for some websites. For example, this traffic won’t be very productive on sites like ours which are in the internet marketing niche.
On the other hand, I tried it with a weight loss site and the traffic was pretty productive.
Cheers,
Johnny
Yup! You can rank in images the same way as in the Organic Listings. As a matter of fact one of my friends has a site which gets the majority of their traffic from image searches.
Lots of people search images and videos in Google.
Good Post
