The concept is rather simple but what is the most hardest process of it all, is really looking for that “right” domain name. Because if you could find a good domain that has potential, that can already double up your website value twice over.

How to Find Good Domain Names

There are two types of domain names. Domains for the purpose of branding, for being memorable like Google for example, or good 1-2 worded keyword stuffed domains for the purpose of ranking in the search engines. In most cases, domains that are 1-2 worded are preferred as they are more easier to remember. The more likely case scenario is to go for the more memorable domain as most of the time, the 1-2 keyword stuffed domain is already taken and website flipping is really all about how quick you can come up with a domain that has potential and selling it for the best price. Content is the number 1 thing that makes a site complete because without content, a website holds no purpose. So writing one or two unique fully blown posts to convince website buyers, overall can be a great strategy to convince buyers that this is the real deal. Remember. What people see and like, they buy. Website flipping is really all about understanding the trends and delivering appealing websites in regards to the trends. If you got that down, your bound to make plenty of sales with the crowd hungry website buyers looking to establish themselves somewhere. All it takes is just a little bit of practice.

  • Inetersting Post.

Website can be profitable if you know the right methods. I’ve seen many people on warrior forums, that set up a niche website and post a few unique articles and then sell it on for between $100 and $150.

Imagine doing this 100 times a month. You’ll have a nice big fat income rolling in.

  • I think website flipping is a risky business and especially if you don;t have big budget. With this you need to chose a good domain name that people actually like

  • I’m new to the conceipt of website flipping, would you need a lot traffic prior to someone wanting to purchase your site?

  • Hi there,

very nice post, but you need to be a coder in order to make professional looking websites to sell.

Web flipping is not a business for beginners

  • Do you recommend website flipping auto-blogs? Has anyone ever tried this?

Other than my question, this is a fantastic post… Some may think this is hard, but you have it outlined very nicelly.

  • Website “flipping” is increasing in popularity, but many people still don’t know how to effectively buy and sell websites. Most fall for the common mistakes of buying poor quality, junk websites only to find it next to impossible to sell them. If interested, you should check out our site: http://www.buyingandsellingwebsites.com.

Between myself and the previous owner, we’ve bought and sold over 50 websites in the past 5+ years ranging from a few hundred dollars to several hundred thousand.

  • @ play2win – Totally disagree. You don’t need to be a coder to begin. Beginners can definitely succeed in site flipping once they understand the principles. No quesion of that.

Yes, it will take time to learn those skills, but once you have then you’re ahead of most of the players in the game and have the knowledge with you for life.

I started off hiring other people to build sites for me, now I do them myself and sub out whatever I need to.

Don’t be put off, you can do it!

  • @Anil. Any business is risky. Website flipping is one of the less risky business to get into because you can pretty much get a website for around $10 per year and there are places where you can get free web hosting. Your only other expense would be the cost of listing your website.
