How to Best Utilize Social Networks for Social Marketing

We all know that any form of social network, especially more widely known ones like YouTube, and Facebook, are some of the great ways to receive free promotion and to make friends. But one of the most often regarded mistakes that most new beginners have a tendency of, even though it may be so easy, is to become lazy and disregard proper titling, tagging, description writing, and research, even though it is so easy and makes a significant impact to their marketing campaigns.

And here, I’ll tell you why these are very significant in your social marketing campaigns and why you should be aware of them.

Although proper titling, tagging, description writing, and research may sound like a boring task, it is very essential to pay attention to what you put in these forms because for the most part, what separates you from any other person, is the following: title, tags, and description.

This may sound rather repetitive, but thats really because thats all it takes to get your marketing campaign going and could be the difference between a successful one to an unsuccessful one.

Proper Titling

Titling can be the hardest to figure out, especially if lets say, you were trying to promote a video on YouTube for a broad keyword like Money. The general idea of titling is to include as many frequently searched up relative terms within your title. A good way to research what keywords are most often searched up, is to either use Google’s Keyword tool or sometimes, the very site even gives you suggestions you can use right off the bat when you constantly type in queries in the search bar. These are some great techniques to give you some general ideas of what people are searching up and with the proper inclusion of the keywords, your video (for this example) on money on YouTube will be bound to see more exposure.

Proper Tagging

Alongside proper titling, tagging is somewhat alike to titling. Your mission with tagging with any social networking site, is practically still the same concept of titling, but instead, you can target more ungeneralized terms. Like for instances, you see that your money video has a 13 year old boy in it. In the tag section, you can input: 13 year old boy makes money. You get the idea. Tagging is also a great way to “double up” on keywords you want to be specifically highlighted on. Most often times, social networking sites offer a certain amount of tags. Your mission is to be as productive as you can and do some reasonable amount of keyword research and then your campaign should be good to go.

Description Writing

Description writing can be a tough one to figure out, but there are many uses to it. It can be a great way to persuade visitors who are just pasting by because about 80% of the time, the description is most often used alongside the title, in some other form of a snippet. And if you can write a catchy, interesting, funny, creative, or succulent description, you are well on your way to receiving more exposure than if you were to be not aware of the benefits and capabilities of this feature.

Research

Besides using the Google Keywords tool or using the search bar to find frequently searched up queries, a great way to do proper marketing research is to analyze competitors and see what works and what doesn’t. Lets say for instance if you were dealing with YouTube marketing. Your first step would be to analyze the following: their title, description, and their tags. Once you have done this, you would take note of how many views the page has obtained and joint down some notes. Sometimes, you can even see the tags your competitors used and even use them for your own campaign for your advantage (at least for YouTube). Also, as in any marketing campaign, it is always good to split test with titles and see which title perform the best and once you find the winning title, you just iterate the whole process over again. Research is almost always key in any marketing campaign and often times can help give you additional information to help you better your campaign. Because no matter how well your campaign may be performing, there is always room for improvement.
