6 Affiliate Networks I Actively Participate in
March 6th, 2010
A lot of people or webmasters, ask me what type of affiliate networks do I participate in and to be honest, I actively participate in a lot of networks and not just one. I can see why people would ask such questions because everyone wants to feel like they are maximizing their profits with any affiliate program they are in.
I think the worst possible feeling when joining any affiliate program is finding out that you are dealing with a middleman and discovering that your efforts could have been rewarded for much more with another affiliate network. Although I don’t necessarily mean that the affiliate networks I participate in are 100% the best payouts in the world, they do however pay mighty good and if you are dealing with affiliate marketing, I strongly recommend joining them.
Realize that this is ordered in no particular order.
- MaxBounty – Maxbounty is simply one of the more lucrative networks out there, which offers CPA (cost per action) marketers, the ultimate buck for their efforts. They have various programs on their network and is simply one of my favorite networks because their user panel is really easy to use and easy to get acquainted with other programs I am interested in. Joining is a must if you plan on doing any sort of affiliate marketing.
- Commission Junction (CJ) - Commission Junction is also one of my favorite networks and not to say, my most profitable network I participate in. Joining CJ is simply a no brainer. What makes Commission Junction stand out from most affiliate networks is that they openly accept almost anyone as long as it has nothing to do with illegal activity. CJ’s network of affiliate programs still continues to grow strong and is a network every affiliate marketers should be acquainted with alongside Maxbounty. Read why I recommend CJ here.
- ShareaSale – ShareaSale is one of the growing affiliate networks out there that has shown tremendous growth in the affiliate network industry and continues to grow strong. Although I am not as active on their network compared to networks like MaxBounty and CJ, it still has some lucrative programs I promote, which other networks do not have. All in all, ShareaSale is a great network to be in and generally the commission is great.
- Clickbank – Clickbank is the leading affiliate network for online virtual goods. This includes ebooks, softwares, and other virtual means. Clickbank stands out and could also be claimed as a monopoly when it comes to providing a network of affiliate programs for virtual goods like ebooks and softwares that you cannot find elsewhere. Also, one of the great things about Clickbank is that generally you get paid at least 60%+ commission for every sale you make, sometimes even 80%.
- CPALead – CPALead introduces an entirely new aspect to CPA marketing, offering gateways to increase lead conversions. This unique ability from CPALead is what separates it self from other affiliate networks, and is why CPALead offers are generally more easier to convert. You can read our post on How to Make Money Online with CPALead here. I recommend joining CPALead if you operate a entertainment type website.
- LinkShare – Although LinkShare is currently a rather small network, if you plan on being an affiliate for large credit card companies like American Express and other Forex type programs, you can be sure that when joining LinkShare, you will have a variety of programs to choose them. One of the flaws of LinkShare at the moment is that it is a bit short of affiliate programs in other categories, but that still doesn’t change the fact that it still has momentum to become one of the leading affiliate networks today. And not to say, their unique customly designed user interface is awesome.
All in all, I personally love all the affiliate networks I participate in above. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a dominant affiliate network because every affiliate network must have some flaws. And by joining a variety of affiliate networks, you can use each individual strong points to compliment each other and cover each others flaws. Combined, all is well in terms of maximizing profits. Although you are not limited to only these affiliate networks above, they are great starter affiliate networks to get acquainted with affiliate marketing. One of the reasons why I say this is because I have already been paid by every single one of them repeatedly. When I was just starting out affiliate marketing, I have always wished someone had said a thing or two about these networks. Too late for that now, I had to learn it the hard way through trial and error.

It’s always a good idea to stick with the networks that have proven themselves to affiliates. You should always be open to new opportunities, it’s just that there’s a ton of crap out there.
I’m a fan of CJ, and most of my income is through them. I’ve had small wins with SAS, but CJ I’m used to, and they pay on time.
Nice list. I don’t do much CPA, so I am working mainly with CJ and Clickbank.
Thanks for the great list of affiliates ! It’s true there is no such thing as a dominate affiliate network. If you ask 5 people this question, you’ll get 5 different answers. Experience is the best teacher, but a good rule of thumb is to stick with the bigger, more reputable networks.
